Tackling the Energy Crisis and Regulatory Requirements with Automated Building Management Systems

On 23 July 2018, Law No. 4941 "On the Energy Performance of Buildings" came into force in Ukraine. The document focuses primarily on energy certification and the assessment of buildings against established energy-saving criteria. Since 1 July 2019, this procedure has been mandatory for buildings under construction and for those undergoing major repairs or reconstruction. Following an inspection by the competent authorities, an energy certificate is issued — an electronic document of a prescribed form that states: • information on the amount of resources consumed by the building; • the current energy-efficiency class, from A to G; • key technical data about the facility; • a list of recommendations and measures for saving energy and improving the energy-efficiency class.
