Prestigious business center in central Paris under the control of the PcVue SCADA package

The «Le Louvre des Entreprises» business center is located in the historic Palais-Royal ("royal palace") building, erected opposite the Louvre museum in 1852 at the direction of Napoleon III and used ever since for antique shops. A century later, in 1975, a British investor renovated the building and recreated the «Louvre des antiquaires». Today the lower part of the building houses the «Louvre des Antiquaires» (level -1 and the ground floor) plus 10,000 m2 of art galleries featuring works from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Every year, about 500 thousand foreign tourists visit the «Louvre des Antiquaires». For many, this place has become an integral part of their tour of the artistic landmarks of Paris. The upper floors are given over to the «Le Louvre des Entreprises» business center, home to prestigious offices of major institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, embassies, and the Bank of France.

After completing a major renovation, the current owner of the entire building set out to implement effective building monitoring, allowing better use and control of the 37,000 m2 of available space. The implementation of the control and monitoring system was entrusted to ESOPE together with APILOG AUTOMATION. The system is built on the PcVue SCADA package, a LonWorks network, and various third-party equipment from companies such as Loytec, THERMOKON, JOHNSON CONTROLS, ACELIA, and KARNO OEM. LonWorks (2,500 nodes) serves as the primary network, supplemented by Modbus.

In its final form, the core elements of the monitoring system architecture include 36 Loytec L-INX servers, 3 PcVue servers, several WebVue thin clients for Internet/Intranet access, and LonWorks software from Newron System.

The integrated system makes it possible to manage all of the building's equipment and respond quickly to emergencies. The functional ergonomics of the control system provide rapid supervision of each zone and their dynamic reconfiguration. Power consumption management and optimization have also been implemented.
