Museum of Kyiv History

The building is located at 7 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho Street. It has three floors with a total area of about 3 thousand square meters.
The museum's exposition occupies the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building. Notably, the exhibition is arranged to hold the visitor's interest. This is not just a classic museum: attention is drawn, for example, by an interactive screen showing educational videos about the capital's history, as well as – a huge wooden model of medieval Kyiv.
The museum exhibits are arranged in chronological order. The first hall holds artifacts of Kyiv's history up to the 13th century: various coins, pottery and jewelry, and samples of Old Rus writing. The second hall is devoted to the 13th-20th centuries. It features paintings, information about historical figures, photographs of Kyiv military hospitals from the First World War, and even personal belongings of some notable people. The third hall of the museum is dedicated to historical artifacts from the era of Hetman Skoropadsky. It also includes a Kyiv woman's room containing various items as well as furniture from the 1920s.
In the museum you can also discover interesting facts from the lives of such contemporary figures as Bohdan Stupka, Nina Matviyenko, Ada Rohovtseva, Yevhen Miroshnychenko, Yana Klochkova, the Klitschko brothers, and others. Here you will also find photographs of the modern capital and gifts presented to Kyiv by foreign delegations.
